Welcome to the Bea’s Beaded Jewelry website.  After several years of dabbling with beads and beaded jewelry I have finally decided to share my designs with you.  I hope you will enjoy wearing my jewelry as much as many others do.  What started off as gifts to family and friends has slowly turned into an exciting business venture.

I was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1969.  I have lived here all my life and will probably never move away.  I love Chicago.  Today I live among the gorgeous high rises in the city where all the action is.  You can do almost anything out here.  Experience fine dining, see a movie, go to a live show, shop to your hearts content and even watch the fireworks along the pier twice a week.   All within walking distance.  You can even take a cruise along the river and lakefront in a small tour boat or a luxury dinner boat.  There are free concerts and movies at Grant Park all summer.  It’s such an incredible time out here.  So much to do, so little time!

Several years ago I finally purchased a digital camera.  Now I practically carry it around everywhere I go.  One thing I love to do especially is storm watching.  During the spring and summer months some of the most spectacular storms blow through here.  Sitting out on my balcony for the duration is not uncommon for me to do.  I could literally sit out there until the storm passes, taking dozens of pictures.   My pics have been on our local news channel, NBC 5.

For as long as I can remember I have always needed a creative outlet.  I just need to create something!  At a very young age I tried my hand at sewing clothes for my Barbie dolls which unfortunately, was short lived.  One arm too long did not impress the kiddies at show and tell.  I’ll leave the seamstress work to my mother.

Later I began drawing and did quite well actually.  I have not kept up with it but it is still in me ready to be used when needed.  I tried water colors, colored pencils and even colored chalk.  Colored chalk was fun but I soon discovered it was quite a messy process.  I’ll stick to colored pencils and Crayola markers thank you very much!

In my teens I took up Crocheting which I soon discovered I could make afghans simply by looking at a picture.  Hmmm, maybe a new afghan is in order.  And now I can incorporate that with beads!!  That’s something to consider in the near future.  Stay tuned…..  ;-)

In my 20’s I was all over the place.  But I did keep up with the crocheting and started up again with the beads.  I mostly made necklaces and bracelets back then for myself for fun or special occasions.  After getting married in my mid 20s I got into baking and decorating cakes.  After awhile I realized baking cakes equaled weight gain.  I stopped soon after.  It was a wise decision on my part, believe me!!

After divorcing and moving to downtown, beaded jewelry became a huge trend.  You'll find beaded jewelry everywhere and in everything.  It has been an exciting learning experience for me and I hope to pick up some more ideas along the way.

Several years ago I was given an opportunity to expand my knowledge in Graphic Design by going to Columbia College.  After about 6 months of classes I received a certificate in Website Design and Graphic Design.

After all this time I now realize that all that I have learned and experienced, I am finally where I'm suppose to be in my life.  I'm not sure what will happen in the future but I am very excited to be here.

So you see the “creating” never stops for me.

Keep checking back as I am always designing new pieces.  Contact me any time with questions, comments or even some great advice!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
